Multicom Telephone PCXArchitect SpecificationsThis system shall be shipboard telephone system. The system shall be comprised of one central processing unit, preferably installed in an electronics space (controlled environment) on the highest deck possible. The central system shall consist of one CPU (with an optional second CPU as a standby backup), one termination board, and one Uninterruptible Power Supply, properly sized for the CPU. The central CPU system shall be a Multicom PCX digital telephone system or an approved equal. Wiring for the system shall all be home runs of (Shipboard Armored Telco Cable, Fire Rated CAT 5 or CAT3) cable from the CPU location to each telephone location. One cable run is required for each telephone instrument. Care shall be given to separate the wiring runs port and starboard to allow for longevity of communication during any emergency situation. Any areas requiring visual or audible signaling, such as high noise areas, will require a second run of cable specific for the sounder or signal. Telephones shall be analog only, and appropriate for each location - quantities shall be as follows: _________ Multicom Desk Style Telephones _________ Multicom Bulkhead Style Telephones _________ Waterproof Telephone _________ Headsets _________ High Noise Area Alerts _________ Wireless Telephones _________ Fax Units Locations shall be: (Place locations the telephone instruments will be here) OPTIONAL Outside communications for the system shall be provided by (shore connect, cellular, satellite, VOIP satellite) so connection shall be made from the CPU to the control system for external communication. OPTIONAL A Station Message Detail Recorder shall be provided to track call time and charges on a per telephone basis. The SMDR system shall be adjacent to the CPU, but reporting system and printer shall be located in the (pursers office, captains office, etc.) The SMDR system shall be a Multicom PCXSMDR. |
